Nas...? No, its Naas.

Well as we all know, this blog originated to document the events of myself, my roommates, my friends and overall life as a second semester college senior leading up to the big day, GRADUATION. And staying true to form, I am writing to report a very very recent and exciting update regarding one of my most craziest loveliest of cats, my own roommate Miss Katie.

She is in the 5-year food marketing co-op program at our fabulous university and has done everything in her co-op path from count ice tea cartons (sometimes with some help from suzy suz and myself), set up grocery store displays to selling the most exotic delicious mouth-watering fruit, Mangos. And now it seems this time around for her last and final co-op she will be traveling to the land of her ancestors and current family, IRELAND. Congrats my dearest of dears you have scored the coveted, once in a life time internship and are going to have the time of your life! I will cry cry cry when the day comes for her to depart but the tears wont last for long because my plan is to stuff myself in her suitcase and then surprise! Live with her in Ireland, escaping the dreaded demands of the post grad life. Okay well that last part won't actually be happening but hopefully I will be able to get there to visit her since she will be gone for an impossibly long time of 7 months. I googled some pictures of her future homestead of the Naas Town, County Kildare, Ireland, its no Terrace Street but it's alright I suppose... HA jokes its all too fabulous.

Apparently this is the famous Naas Canal...

The Town landmark, not quite sure?

Okay so it looks as though there are not many pictures of this lovely town, but I am sure that is only because one cannot capture the magicalness of it all on film...

Moving on, this week has been going by quite slowly, Monday night Katie Suzy and myself went out to The Bayou, a bar on Main Street offering 20 cent wings and $1.25 bud lights on Mondays and Tuesdays. The celebration of Katie's internship started at 5pm and went late into the night, well until Katie left us to watch Pretty Little Liars... Ha. Tomorrow night is the frat guys' date party in the city and I am very ready to have some fun and drink the dranks especially after a full day of classes, including a night class- ew.

All in all, the days continue on and slowly but surely future plans, not mine of course, are coming into shape and it will be only too soon until we are all off on our own post college adventures!

My Weekend Away

I am currently sitting on my NJ Transit train leaving NY Penn Station headed back to the city of brotherly love with one quick transfer in Trenton, NJ.  My weekend away at my aunt’s perfectly Sex and the City chic apartment was just what the doctor ordered. I was of course missing my girlfraaands but taking a much needed mental break from everything was absolutely great. Yesterday and today consisted of snuggling on the couch with this little guy…

Little Teensy and I took some long walks and had some play time but mostly we just snuggled and vegged. I had plans to go out in the city and do things but eh, who wants to leave a fabulous warm apartment with such a cute little munchkin like Tino. I caught up on some shows and made us our meals and just relaxed. It was FABulous. And now I am well rested and ready for what the week ahead has in store for me, I hope this one is better than the last.

Oh and ps, PUNTA CANA in 13 days!!

SUN!

It is absolutely theeee most beautiful day outside today here in Manayunk and I am enjoying the sun shining bright and the breeze blowing freely. It brings back memories of the summer here on Terrace street and what good memories those are.

My dearest roomies shall all depart separate ways this weekend, some going home some to the mountains and myself to New York City. I will enjoy a night out tonight with suzy suz since we will be the only two left til tomorrow and then take a train to whisk me away to the city. I get the pleasure of babysitting my aunt's precious little pup while relaxing and hanging out in her beeeeautiful apartment in the Village right by NYU. Long walks with little Tino, great shopping and scrumptious food await me!

Here is a little sneak peak of my favorite but slobbery cousin... more pictures and updates to come from the Big Apple!

Punta Cana, I wanna!

It seems as though I have neglected my new bloggy friend but I am back and ready to share share share! Not very much has happened since I left off last, the terrace cats and I had a night out on Saturday or I should say a night in with a quick appearance at Kildares for a few drinks.

Sunday was a day of tiresome voting for Delta Sigma Pi, the business fraternity I am in, where we voted in to the frat a group of extremely qualified, absolutely incredible, business-savvy pledges! Now on to Monday-- also Valentine's Day-- a day celebrated by most but hated and loathed by more. For me this is a day I don't so much as enjoy besides the aspect of getting to coordinate my outfit to wear pink and red from head to toe! This means I wore my perfectly and obscenely bright pink and red Lilly 3/4-length shirt with a big satin bow on the shoulder, a matching pink scarf and some other pink items... After a day of interning and classes my fratty guy and I  grabbed dinner at The Ugly Moose, one of our favorite restaurant bars in town and enjoyed some great food, drinks and conversation fireside.

Enough enough with the catching up, it is time for what I truly wrote this blog about... SPRING BREAK '11 !!! The girls and I along with quite a few other Saint Joe's hawks are headed to Punta Cana for our final spring break and this most anticipated event is only 17 days away, woo-hoo! That being said, my mind has obviously been racing with what to wear, what to wear, what to wear?! I have put together just two of manyyyy possible options I have floating in my mind, one for girls and of course one for the guys. Take a look and enjoy!

And We're Back in the Game!

Woohooo ATTENTION everyone, today marks a momentous occasion- spring sorority rush is OVER and that means that I get all of my greek girls back but most importantly my roommates-Sara and Nikki! After a quick shopping excursion with Suzy to King of Prussia mall all of the roommates headed down to Main Street to Dereks where we enjoyed a late lunch and a few 1/2 off bottles of wine. We also saw some of the ice sculptures on Main Street from the ongoing Manayunk on Ice festival and here is the one that was outside of Dereks that a man got carved for his wife who was celebrating a 50th birthday party inside-- TOO precious...

After our scrumptious lunch and a much needed session of catching up, making eyes at the cute waiter and incestuous laughter, we headed to the Wine & Spirits to get some pre-game materials for the evening. Since there was none to be found of our current favorite liquor of  choice, Pinacle Whipped Vodka (so so so good), we got some root beer vodka to be mixed with some root beer which also makes for a very tasty and easy quick drink!

Some shall nap before the night begins and some will watch episodes upon episodes of Sex & the City conveniently playing on E!, but by 9PM you can be assured we will all be together again blasting our music through the walls halls and stairwells of our house getting ready for the night to come! I wonder what the night will bring, only fun music laughter and bad decisions I am sure.

Change of Plans

As I had somewhat expected, I came home from my internship to my nice warm comfy cozy house and got to sipping on wine and cooking pasta with my fellow Terrace Cats, Katie and Suzy and found myself not parting from the couch. I am actually sitting here now watching last night's episode of Jersey shore enjoying the usual, so crazy it seems unreal, show dramz and a bottle, or two, of wine with the girls. As much as I am wishing I got to see the 'Ice bonfire' in town, a relaxing night in full of gossip and giggles is sometimes just as great as a night on the town.

That being said, I think its about time I introduce the lovely ladies I reside with in our very humble and always a good time residence. So meet my roommates, my fellow cats, my senior year loves...

From left to right... Nikki, yours truly, Sara, Suzy & Katie.

This picture was taken around the beginning of our senior year, when our minds and hearts were running wild with the unknown and hope of a crazy unforgettable year. It was also taken at one of our usual spots on Main Street during the wintertime, and at most times overcrowded bar, Kildares. If I remember correctly we all went for a happy hour, some of us coming straight from work and some from classes but all coming for a good time.

Loving my night in with the girls, and missing the other two who are currently at their last (thank god, dry rush is almost over) sorority recruitment event of the week. I wonder if we will find ourselves at a bar on Main Street tonight? You never do know...

Graduation... Dresses Dresses Dresses

Some might call me crazy thinking about college graduation already, especially since it is a day currently dreaded by most of my senior class. However I absolutely cannot stop fantasizing about what my perfect graduation dress will be! I have decided there is only one way for me to leave this fine educational establishment and that is in bright, beautifully obnoxious, unmistakably recognizable LILLY. A Lilly Pulitzer dress of all Lilly desses, one I will look at and wear on the many days after graduation and remember the day I graduated from Saint Joseph's University.

Here are my current contestants in the running for this momentous occasion...

The Eryn Dress Stripe

The Regency Bubble Printed

The Tiernan Dress Printed

The Jacqueline Novelty Lace

Next up? The perfect shoes, jewelry (besides pearls of course) and clutch! Here are just a few possibilities...

Eeek so excited just thinking about it all, graduation will certainly be a day to remember! And I am sure there will be many more posts regarding it to come!

Another note before I sign off, tonight begins Manayunk on Ice weekend extravaganza! A weekend full of ice on fire, ice themed cocktails and lots and lots of ice carving. What a great little town the Terrace Cats and I reside in! Check the link out and definitely plan on taking part in this wondrous winter festival!

Back to work for me, lunch break over!

The Thursday

I started this post to discuss my morning of misfortunes after a very late night which ended in a car ride home full of secrets and a few orders of large fries from McDonalds. Brownies was most definitely a successful night, ran into some hometown friends who attend Villanova and as always Saint Joe's senior class in its entirety.

This morning however was not quite as successful, after contemplating attending my 10AM marketing strategy class I decided it would be nothing but beneficial of me to attend and get that business education my parents love me to receive. After managing to make it out of bed, double checking with my roommate Sara who has the class before me if it is worth me actually attending the class, I make my way to campus only to find that even though I am roughly and miraculously 7 minutes early for class there is no parking to find in the Mandeville (the business building) parking lot which is just one of many oh so great aspects of Saint Joe's... NO parking. Eh, this is not entirely true, we do have a parking garage called the Hawks Landing across the street from campus but who wants to walk that extra 10 yards? Certainly not me and certainly not in 20 degree weather, a nasty wind and fighting a very severe hangover. After relentlessly circling the parking lot, getting several dis-concerning looks from fellow hawks due to me tailing anyone who walks out of the building praying for that first sight of keys meaning a SPOT. 20 minutes go by and I decide that it is too late for me to attend class and stubbornly drive over to the parking garage, having to park on the 4th floor and walk to the building. 10AM class?? FAIL, I blame Saint Joe's, the universe, and all other hawks parking in the lot, but actually I just blame anything except my stubbornness which is the true reason for not attending class, OH WELL.

I sit for a few minutes in the Campbell Library fuming over my most recent mishaps when my frat daddy calls me up and asks if I would like to go get a sandwich. My answer? why yes of course I would love a sandwich, hey maybe this morning is taking a turn for the better. After a quick ride to the Main Line and a few snide remarks made by my frat-tastical guy about how I am most certainly still a little under the influence of last night, we arrive at Carlinos. This is my first time going to this magical italian deli/ market and let me tell you as soon as I walked through the door all of my memories from being abroad in Florence, Italy come rushing back and I fall in love. We both order a roast pork sandwich with brocoli rab and hot peppers along with some fresh juice. To. Die. For. Everything is fresh and all natural and makes me feel like I  am being swept away to Due Fratolini, my most favorite sandwich stand in Florence.

And now I sit across from my vineyard vines croakie wearing guy writing this and thinking about the sports articles I have yet to read for my Business of Sports class at 2:30. Better get my life together, I think it's about time considering its already halfway through the day.

The view from my window when I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. Yes that is the duomo and yes it was as amazing as you are probably thinking it was...

It's a Wednesday night... Brownies

I sit here writing my first post on my very first blog in my tiny room, one of five in my house in Manayunk, PA that I share with my other four crazy college roommates. I decided to start this blog to document our last few months, 3 months and 5 days to be exact, until the inevitable... GRADUATION. A word most often followed by a snarl or a faint whimper by some, being second semester seniors at Saint Joseph's University.

I don't have much time before I am sure Katie (my one of four roommates) will come into my room like a whirlwind of fiery craziness telling me its time to get ready and goooo. It is a Wednesday night, and like the seniors of years before us here at St. Joe's that can only mean one thing... Brownies, our Wednesday night go-to bar on the main line offering free entrance, .50 cent drinks, 1$ bottles and always a night to remember, or not to remember, as it is most times.

Just a little picture of our street after our monstrous snow storm and wonderful hazy drinking snow days... good thing I have my Hunter rain boots and J. Crew down jacket to make it a little more bearable!
